About us
As artists we found an association called Nay-Negar in Mazar-e-Sharif in 2015. Since then we have been teaching painting and calligraphy to lots of students. In addition, we have been collaborating with foreign NOGs in support of children’s and adults’ rights. One of objectives of NNVA is to promote and protect the rights of girls and women through art works in the country. This organization organized trainings with financial support of ANAFE National Institute for girls, boys through art works in Balkh province in collaboration with other organizations, such as Children in Crisis, Payam Marifat, Talash Danish Schools from 2015 to 2021. NNVA is committed to continue its effort to promote the rights of girls and women, including persons with disabilities. Since political changes in Afghanistan, NNVA has not been able to continue its activities. NNVA’s principles and values are based on the human rights principles. Its policies, strategies and goals are set in light of the human rights values and principles. NNVA is a non-governmental artistic organization making effort to advocate for the rights of Afghan girls and women through art works.
In Pakistan, NNVA would like to continue some of its activities in painting focusing more on advocacy on the rights of women in Afghanistan in collaboration with other civil society organizations. NNVA is now working on an exhibition titled “The Black Cage” depicting the situation and problems to which the Afghan women and girls are facing. The objective of this exhibition is to raise the voice of the Afghan girls and women to attract the attention of the world to the situation of women. The Afghan girls and women are deprived of their human rights. They do not have access to their basic rights. They are banned from education, employment, freedom of speech, social participation, sports activities, media and travelling. The restrictions against women and girls are increasing day by day, which is making the Afghan women more vulnerable. NNVA is committed to continue its advocacy for the rights of women and girls through is artistic works in exile to raise the voice of the Afghan girls and women. Our association has been working till August 2021 when the Taliban raided Mazar-e-Sharif city and our base. They have beaten our artists and ruined our artworks.
